The editorial team of Antenne Niedersachsen's Moin Show was looking for travel tips and hacks for the station's listeners. One call to Movacar was all it took, and our marketing manager Jörg seized the opportunity to explain our ingenious 1-euro principle.

Kabel Eins tests the Movacar 1 € Camper

(August 11, 2023) Kabel Eins has tested the 1 Euro Camper offers from Movacar and roadsurfer! TV editor Seraphina Kalze drove the One Way Camper from Munich to Milan in the summer of 2023 and described her experiences in detail in the TV magazine "Abenteuer Leben täglich". Her conclusion: "A short holiday with the camper for only 1 euro – yes, it works!"

Holiday tip: Rent cars and camper vans for just one euro

Movacar is recommended as a holiday tip on the website of German television station "mdr Ratgeber". Hobby camper Max Hadamla tested the offer: "I came across (...) Movacar. There, a company had advertised campers for one euro: from A to B in a few days, with limited kilometres and a free tank of petrol. Or for 99 euros: seven days, unlimited kilometres, fuel completely self-pay. That then hooked me and I booked it (...) directly."

(...) So the vehicles have to be brought from Marburg to the rental stations all over Europe. For this purpose, the "Roadsurfers" offer so-called "rallies". (...) Over 100 vehicles are to reach their destinations in this way. Currently, the "Roadsurfers" offer rallies through their partner "Movacar", which have to start between 22 May and 1 June and can last for different lengths of time – more are to follow in June. The individual offers are clearly listed – those interested simply have to enter Marburg as the starting point at movacar.de and then the various destinations will be listed. Simply click on the destination to see the different options. More offers are to be made available in June.

Movacar at the knowledge magazine Galileo

In July 2022, the Movacar offer of 1-Euro campers attracted the attention of the ProSieben reporters. In a self-experiment, the team drove from Hamburg to Berlin in a chic roadsurfer camper for one euro and even organised a free overnight stay for the stopover at the Mecklenburg lake district. The conclusion of the Galileo reporters was enthusiastic: a camping holiday for only one euro – it really is possible!

Bild embarks on the "1-Euro-Tour"

Germany's big daily newspaper with the four letters also took a test drive with Movacar in July. Bild reporter Holger Karkheck transported a VW California Beach from roadsurfer.de in Berlin to Geneva. During the three days of travel he stayed at two campsites and made sightseeing stops in Sinsheim and Stuttgart. The reporter sums up: "Like a short holiday: for only one euro rent!"

My 1-Euro Camping Holiday

Already at the beginning of July, the Bild-Zeitung published an article about the 1-Euro campers from Movacar. Auto Bild devoted two double-page spreads to the report by reporter Holger Krakheck. His one-way trip went from Berlin to Geneva in the VW California Beach of our cooperation partner roadsurfer.

Getting to your Holiday Destination for 1 Euro

The Heidenheimer Zeitung (Südwestpresse) reports on the Movacar business model and discusses the 1-euro camper offers in detail. During the Corona pandemic, the demand for camper van trips has increased enormously. The almost free one-way camper trips are just what the market needs.

Movacar 1 Euro Camper convincing in practice test

For the Vox car magazine "auto mobil" (episode 26 of 26 June 2022) editor Andreas Jancke has tested our 1 Euro camper. With the camper of roadsurfer.de he drove in 24 hours from Bochum to Geneva and was not only impressed by the very affordable rental price. The excellent equipment of the campervans and its overnight accommodation amidst picturesque vineyards also made the camper heart beat faster.

Camping trips for 1 Euro

The trade magazine CamperVans is aimed at all fans of camping buses and panel vans. According to the editors, the Europe-wide one-way trips with Movacar are particularly suitable for adventurous travellers who want to experience the flair of a "last minute trip" in a motorhome. Simply pack your suitcase, spontaneously search for an available route and set off for just one euro!

1€ Motorhome – too good to be true?

In the summer of 2022, Movacar is marketing many one-way rentals with camper vans. In June, the Berliner Zeitung reports on this. On the one hand, the report focuses on the classic transfer trips for only 1 euro. But the article also looks at the so-called Rallye offer. In this case, the camper van can be used for a whole week – in fact, for a full-fledged camper trip!

"Motorhome rentals for just 1 euro!" – under this headline, the magazine Autobild reports on May 12, 2022 about the new offer of the Berlin mobility start-up Movacar in cooperation with the camper rental companies Indie Campers and Roadsurfer.
